Our class decided to bring a stuffed animal to school as a reward for the Reading logs. Please watch your student's assignment book for information on when we will have our stuffed animal day.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Reading</div><br /><div><br />Next week we will have our Theme 3 Review. We will be reading two stories about neighborhoods. The first story tells about how a little girl can be a big help to her grandfather. The second story takes us on a walk through a boy's busy city neighborhood. </div><br /><div><br />We will concentrate on the comprehension strategies of Questioning, Summarizing, Monitoring and Clarifying and Compare and Contrast.<br /></div><br /><div>Vocabulary words for next week are: deliveries, flyer, grand opening, grocery store, success, supermarket, brave, plaster, barrio (the Spanish word for neighborhood), mural, fiesta, shrubbery, trophies, customs, traditions.</div><br /><div><br />Phonics skills will cover consonant digraphs, base words and endings -er and -est and vowel pairs ai and ay.</div><br /><div><br />Grammar lessons will cover proper nouns and plurals.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Math<br />We have been working on our money units and took our test on money.
